As a professional, I believe that Australia’s urging of Indonesia not to execute drug smugglers on death row is a reasonable and compassionate stance. I agree with this position for several reasons.
Firstly, the death penalty is a violation of human rights. Every individual has the right to life, and the death penalty goes against this fundamental principle. By advocating for the lives of these drug smugglers, Australia is upholding the value of human life and promoting a more humane approach to justice.
Secondly, drug smuggling is a complex issue that cannot be effectively addressed through the use of the death penalty.
