Tobacco is a kind of drug. People have been free to use it. Some people think that it should be illegal to use it compared with other drugs. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What is your opinion?

Tobacco is indeed a kind of drug, and its use has been a topic of debate for many years. While some argue that it should be illegal to use, I believe that individuals should have the freedom to make their own choices when it comes to using tobacco.
There is no denying the fact that tobacco is harmful to one’s health. It has been linked to numerous health issues, including lung cancer, heart disease, and respiratory problems. In addition, secondhand smoke can also have detrimental effects on non-smokers. Given these facts, it is understandable why some people believe that tobacco should be illegal, especially when compared to other drugs.
However, I believe that making tobacco illegal is not the solution to addressing the issue of its harmful effects. Prohibition has been shown to be ineffective in the past, as seen with the alcohol prohibition in the United States in the 1920s. Instead, I believe that efforts should be focused on education and prevention. By providing individuals with the information they need to make informed decisions about tobacco use, we can empower them to make healthier choices for themselves and those around them.
Furthermore, I believe that individuals should have the freedom to make their own choices, as long as they are not harming others. While tobacco use may be harmful to one’s health, it is a personal choice that should be respected. By criminalizing tobacco use, we would be infringing on individual freedoms and potentially creating a black market for the product, which could lead to even more negative consequences.
In conclusion, while I acknowledge the harmful effects of tobacco use, I do not believe that it should be illegal. Instead, I believe that efforts should be focused on education and prevention, while respecting individuals’ freedom to make their own choices. By taking this approach, we can work towards reducing the negative impact of tobacco on society.
