In some countries, marriages are arranged by the parents but in other cases, people choose their own marriage partner. Discuss both systems and state which one do you think is better.

In many cultures around the world, the process of finding a life partner varies greatly. In some countries, parents take the lead in arranging marriages for their children, while in others, individuals have the freedom to choose their own partners. Both systems have their own advantages and disadvantages, but personally, I believe that allowing individuals to choose their own marriage partners is the better option.
In societies where arranged marriages are the norm, parents typically take into consideration various factors such as social status, financial stability, and family background when selecting a suitable partner for their children. While this approach may lead to stable and harmonious unions, it can also result in individuals feeling pressured to marry someone they may not have a strong connection with. Furthermore, this system may not take into account the personal preferences and compatibility of the individuals involved, leading to potential unhappiness in the marriage.
On the other hand, in societies where individuals have the freedom to choose their own partners, the emphasis is placed on personal compatibility, mutual attraction, and shared values. This allows individuals to form deep emotional connections with their partners and build a strong foundation for their marriage. However, this system also comes with its own set of challenges, such as the risk of making hasty decisions based solely on emotions without considering important factors such as long-term compatibility and shared goals.
In my opinion, the freedom to choose one’s own marriage partner is the better option. This approach allows individuals to take their time to get to know their potential partners, build a strong emotional connection, and make an informed decision about their future together. It also promotes personal autonomy and the ability to prioritize one’s own happiness and well-being in the decision-making process.
In conclusion, while both systems of arranging marriages have their own merits, I believe that allowing individuals to choose their own partners is the preferable option. This approach prioritizes personal compatibility and emotional connection, ultimately leading to more fulfilling and successful marriages.
