There is no denying the fact that both classmates and parents play crucial roles in a child’s success in school. However, when it comes to influence, I believe that parents have a more significant impact on a child’s academic achievements.
Firstly, parents are the first teachers of a child. They lay the foundation for their child’s education by instilling values such as discipline, hard work, and perseverance. These values are essential for success in school and beyond. Parents also provide the necessary support and encouragement that a child needs to excel in their studies. They help with homework, provide educational resources, and create a conducive learning environment at home. This level of involvement and guidance from parents cannot be replaced by anyone else, including classmates.
Furthermore, parents have a long-term and consistent influence on a child’s education. They are there for their child from the beginning of their academic journey until they graduate from school. On the other hand, classmates may change over the years, and their influence may not be as enduring as that of parents. While classmates can have a positive impact on a child’s academic performance through collaboration and peer support, their influence is limited to the school environment.
However, it is important to acknowledge the role that classmates play in a child’s success in school. They can provide motivation, support, and a sense of belonging, which are all important factors for academic achievement. Additionally, positive peer pressure and healthy competition in the classroom can push students to strive for excellence.
