Many scientists and linguists predict that all people will choose to speak the same global language in the future.
How far do you agree or disagree with this prediction?

In today’s increasingly interconnected world, the question of whether a single global language will eventually be adopted by all people is a topic of much debate. While some scientists and linguists argue that this is an inevitable outcome, I personally believe that the likelihood of this happening is quite low.
On the one hand, proponents of a single global language argue that it would facilitate communication and understanding among people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This, they claim, would lead to greater unity and cooperation across the globe. Additionally, they argue that having a common language would make international business, travel, and diplomacy more efficient and effective.
However, I believe that the adoption of a single global language is highly unlikely for several reasons. Firstly, language is deeply intertwined with culture and identity, and many people take great pride in their native language. It is unlikely that they would be willing to give up their language in favor of a global one. Furthermore, the process of language acquisition and maintenance is a complex and deeply ingrained aspect of human society. It is unlikely that people would be able to switch to a new global language without significant resistance and difficulty.
Additionally, the idea of a single global language raises questions of power and dominance. Which language would be chosen as the global language, and who would make that decision? The imposition of a single global language could be seen as a form of cultural imperialism, and could lead to the marginalization of minority languages and cultures.
In conclusion, while the idea of a single global language may seem appealing in theory, the practical and cultural barriers to its adoption are significant. I believe that the diversity of languages and cultures is an important and valuable aspect of human society, and that the world is better served by embracing and celebrating this diversity rather than seeking to homogenize it. Therefore, I strongly disagree with the prediction that all people will choose to speak the same global language in the future.
