Some argue that giving children too much freedom in decision-making will result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. On the other hand, there are those who believe that it is important for children to have a say in matters that affect them.
Those who oppose the idea of children making their own choices often argue that it may lead to a generation of self-centered individuals. They believe that children need guidance and structure in order to develop into responsible and considerate adults. For example, if children are allowed to choose their own meals, they may always opt for unhealthy and convenient options, leading to a lack of understanding about the importance of nutrition.
On the contrary, proponents of children making decisions about matters that affect them argue that it is crucial for their development.
