Sample Answer:
There are two main schools of thought when it comes to selecting students based on their academic abilities. Some people argue that schools should select students according to their academic abilities in order to create a more focused and competitive learning environment. On the other hand, others believe that it is better to have students with different abilities studying together in order to promote diversity and inclusivity.
Those who advocate for selecting students based on their academic abilities argue that it allows for a more homogeneous learning environment where students can be challenged at a similar level. This, they argue, can lead to higher academic achievement and better preparation for higher education and future careers. Additionally, it can also create a more competitive atmosphere, which can motivate students to work harder and strive for excellence.
On the other hand, proponents of having students with different abilities studying together argue that it promotes diversity and inclusivity. They believe that by having students with varying academic abilities in the same classroom, it creates a more supportive and collaborative learning environment. It also allows for peer learning, where students can learn from each other’s strengths and weaknesses. This can help to foster a more inclusive and empathetic community, preparing students for the diverse world outside of the classroom.
In my opinion, while there are benefits to both approaches, I believe that having students with different abilities studying together is more beneficial in the long run. It promotes diversity and inclusivity, and prepares students for the real world, where they will undoubtedly encounter people with different abilities and backgrounds. Additionally, it fosters a more supportive and collaborative learning environment, where students can learn from each other and develop important interpersonal skills. While it may require more effort from teachers to cater to the varying needs of students, the benefits of a diverse and inclusive learning environment far outweigh the challenges.
